A quick blog this time

This is to compensate for yesterday's novel. haha
Today we visited the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, outside of Munich. It was really sobering. Really sobering is an understatement actually. I'm not really sure what to say beyond that. I didn't take any photos because it just didn't feel right.

Now for some updated plans for the next couple days. Tomorrow is our Castle Day in southern Germany before we head to Switzerland (Zürich and Lucerne). Beyond that our plans have changed. The weather is looking stormy in the Alps, so we're ditching that plan of action, and instead heading to Strasbourg (in France) and then to Paris for a day. Then back to Strasbourg, up to Luxembourg, then on to Hamburg (to look a bunch of model trains, a really large set up actually), then back to the Rhine to finish out our trip. It should be a lot of fun (even though its a LOT of train travel).

I'm thinking that's all for now. Its going to be an early morning tomorrow as we're catching an 0551 train to Fussen.
Until next time!! (hopefully wifi in Zürich or Lucerne?)

What sort of trains have you been taking? Are they overnight-type trains with beds and stuff? Have the rides been comfortable? (I know a lot of stuff in Europe is considerably more compact/ space is harder to come by.)
Also, in respect to your last post, it's funny to hear that beer is cheaper than water and soda.

I see you're planning to visit Paris. Hopefully it won't be as busy as it was when I was there last summer (I think it was about a month later). In the case that there are tons of people, be prepared to wait in line for at least an hour to visit the Eiffel Tower. I would recommend the Louvre (even just the courtyard outside of the actual museum) and L’arc de triomphe, as well.
Also, have a baguette. They're wonderful. And in the case that you take the subway system, the word "sortie" (exit) is helpful to know.

Hmm lets see here.
We haven't been taking the overnight-style trains yet (although we will take one from Hamburg to ... somewhere.) They've been the standard daytime trains (railjets, InnerCity, EuroCity, and the standard regional trains mostly)
Thanks for the Paris tips :)
